A great opportunity to enjoy two of New Zealand's best Sauvignon Blancs in distinctively different styles. Both wines are from the Belsham Awatere Estate, where the grapes are hand-tended and hand-picked to ensure the best fruit quality.
Only declared in exceptional vintages, the La Lapine Icon Artist Series Sauvignon Blanc is a natural expression of Sauvignon Blanc that perfectly reflects the terroir. Fermented by the indigenous yeast that lives in the vineyard naturally, the resulting wine is a captivating style with an elegant form that moves across the palate with intensity and purpose.
The 2014 La Lapine was allowed time in the cellar to further develop complexity and offers luscious flavours of white peach, warm citrus, and honeycomb, with underlying layers of savoury herb and flint wrapped in a silky texture. It finishes long and focused. 3,033 bottles produced.
The 2016 sur lie aged Sauvignon Blanc is a pure expression of the grape, a grown-up style that is complex and refined yet has zest and energy and is always ready for fun!
The 2016 vintage was an outstanding growing season, resulting in very structured wines with beautiful fruit characters and excellent aging ability. In classic John Belsham style, the wine is a pure expression with precise architecture, elegant lines, and vibrant energy. Aromas of citrus blossom and summer thyme fold into flavours of citrus, white peach, oyster shell salinity, and a creamy, nutty lees character.
Enjoy with bountiful plates of grilled summer vegetables, salads, cheesy pasta, seafood, and grilled fish dishes.
Offer: Mixed Dozen, six (6) bottles each of the 2014 La Lapine Icon Artist Series and the 2016 sur lie aged Sauvignon Blanc.
