Since 1992, Foxes Island Chardonnay has been our leading lady. We are pleased to present the 20th vintage of Foxes Island Chardonnay 2011.
From a small block organically farmed in the Belsham Awatere Estate, indigenous yeasts naturally vinify the wine in large oak barrels over a 12 month period. Once bottled the wine is allowed to age in our cellars prior to release.
An elegant yet powerful wine with ample layers of toasty brioche, apricot, warm, sun-ripe lemon, mealy honeycomb and a sprinkle of white pepper are finely supported by wonderful acidity that finishes long and lovely.
A true classic, the wine will continue to age for many years. 284 cases produced.
